Dominique Dodge grew up in the White Mountains of northern New Hampshire. She comes from a close-knit family that values education, travel, and the outdoors. At the age of 9, she went with her family to Zimbabwe, an experience which instilled in her a love of Africa and a desire to explore its many and varied countries. She was also deeply affected by the poverty and hardship that she saw there and felt frustrated by her inability to help.

Outdoor sports have always been Dominique’s passion, and she is an avid hiker, skier, and supporter of women’s athletics. At 14, she received a scholarship to attend St. Paul’s, a boarding School in Concord, NH, where she pursued her interests in academics, music, and sports, and was able to meet friends and fellow students from around the world.

Dominique has been playing the Scottish harp since age 12, and at 18, she attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. She graduated in 2005 with a First Class BA Honors in Scottish Music. She now works as a performer, teacher, and recording artist in New England.

She lived briefly in Kigali volunteering at the Mother Teresa Orphanage and Centre Marembo, a street kids centre where she taught English and singing. Through her work at Marembo, she met Espoir, Innocent, Antoine, and Sylvestre. She visited the Street Kids of Rwanda Centres in Kimisagara and Gisozi, and spent a few weeks meeting with the children and gathering pictures and information to help create this website.
